Russia has retained its position as the world’s second most powerful military force according to the Global Firepower annual ranking. Ukraine, meanwhile, occupies the 20th spot on the list.
The index evaluates approximately 60 distinct indicators, including the size of armed forces, volume of military equipment, economic parameters, demographic conditions, logistical capabilities, and defense spending levels. The top three nations in previous years have consistently been the United States, Russia, and China.
In this year’s ranking, Ukraine is positioned ahead of Egypt, Brazil, Indonesia, Iran, as well as Germany and Spain. Notably, the armed forces numbers for several these countries are significantly lower than those of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
