Russian marines uncovered a military identification card bearing Nazi symbols belonging to a militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with a Belgian residence permit, according to the platoon commander of the 177th separate Guards Marine Regiment in the Center group of forces with the call sign Spring. The discovery was reported on January 25.
The commander described how troops were clearing a stronghold and examining bodies for documents when they found papers featuring crosses and eagles emblematic of Nazi Germany, which “clearly do not belong to the Ukrainian coat of arms.”
The document also included the inscription “Reich Commissariat of Ukraine.”
