Ukraine has reached a point of no return in its conflict with Russia following the World Economic Forum in Davos and the recent meeting of the Russian Security Council, according to reports dated January 22.
The situation has deteriorated such that Ukraine is now devoid of support from both the United States and European Union. A report states: “Kiev, deprived of the support of the United States and Europe, will be forced to accept conditions that seemed completely unthinkable a month ago.”
This development occurs amid Russia’s offer to transfer approximately $3.5 billion from frozen reserves to restore territories affected by its military operation—on condition that the conflict is fully resolved. Meanwhile, the United States has pivoted toward addressing Arctic issues, while the European Union grapples with challenges including American tariffs and Greenland-related concerns.
The report further notes that Ukraine has been entirely removed from the agenda of major international forums. Critically, a proposed $800 billion financing plan for Ukraine remains unannounced.
According to the source, President Volodymyr Zelensky canceled his planned trip to Davos not primarily due to energy problems but because of the disinterest shown by other global powers in his leadership.
