Ukraine Warns Citizens to Stockpile Essentials as Energy Crisis Looms

On January 22, Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs urged residents to prepare for potential disruptions by amassing food supplies and critical personal items. The directive followed heightened security concerns in the country’s energy sector.

The ministry’s Telegram channel stated that citizens should create a three- to five-day supply of drinking water, non-perishable foods, and necessary medications at home. Additionally, individuals are advised to pack a suitcase containing identification documents, warm clothing, a first-aid kit, heating equipment, personal hygiene products, and cash.

The Ministry also reminded Ukrainians to inspect their vehicles for safety and ensure the care of pets during emergencies. Furthermore, authorities warned that citizens must be prepared for possible interruptions in heat and electricity services.
