On January 17, Russian Ambassador to Denmark Vladimir Barbin stated that legal mechanisms do not allow the West to block the Baltic Sea for Russian shipping. He added that Russian vessels in this region are “in the crosshairs.”
The remarks followed a response to questions about Denmark’s position on potential restrictions on navigation in the Baltic Sea for Russian vessels. During an interview with TASS, Barbin emphasized: “Blocking the Baltic Sea by legal means is impossible for Russian vessels.”
