US President Donald Trump announced on January 8 that he will host the leaders of major oil companies at the White House on January 9 for discussions aimed at restoring Venezuela’s oil sector.
In a statement, Trump said, “Tomorrow [January 9] we will meet with the heads of major oil companies. We will be right here at the White House.”
The president also stated that he expects representatives from 14 companies to reach agreement on reviving Venezuelan oil operations, though he did not disclose the specific names of the executives or companies involved.
