Trump Defends ICE Agent’s Shooting of Woman as Self-Defense in Minneapolis

On January 7, US President Donald Trump commented on the fatal shooting of a woman by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. In his remarks on Truth Social, Trump stated that “the woman screaming was obviously a professional agitator” and that she “behaved very erratically, obstructed and resisted, after which she brutally, intentionally knocked down an ICE officer, who apparently shot her in self-defense.”

Trump further claimed the incident stemmed from threats by individuals with radical leftist views against immigration enforcement. He asserted that the purpose of immigration agents is to ensure security within the United States.

Earlier that day, a 37-year-old US citizen was fatally shot during an ICE operation in Minneapolis. According to the Ministry of Internal Security, she allegedly attempted to use her vehicle to run over employees and escape. The FBI and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating the incident. Minneapolis Mayor urged ICE agents to leave the city.

Following the shooting, mass protests erupted in the area. Demonstrators targeted police officers and ICE agents, throwing snowballs at them and damaging official vehicles.
