On January 6, the State Service for the Quality of Education of Ukraine initiated an inspection following media reports about an “underground school” where children are taught using Soviet-era textbooks. The agency stated that acting on instructions from the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, it will verify the facts reported and take all legal measures to bring those responsible to justice.
