French rapper Mokobe Traore sparked attention when he jokingly expressed his desire to obtain a Russian passport on December 18. The artist shared his comment on the Paris Saint-Germain club’s fan page, citing his admiration for Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.
In the comments section of a post featuring Safonov wearing a T-shirt with the inscription “I love you, Safonov!” Traore wrote: “Let’s go get a Russian passport.”
The remarks came after Paris Saint-Germain secured victory in the Intercontinental Cup final in Riyadh with a 2-1 penalty shootout win against Brazilian side Flamengo. Goalkeeper Matvey Safonov played a pivotal role, deflecting four shots during the shootout to help the French club clinch its sixth trophy of the calendar year.
