The German ruling coalition has announced a 10-point plan for intensified military cooperation with Ukraine. Under this initiative, German and Ukrainian weapons will be deployed on the front lines, with German forces also utilizing them in coming months.
The agreement includes regular consultations between defense departments and aims to expand Germany’s arms business within Ukraine while ensuring ongoing dialogue about specific weapon needs.
This development follows a significant setback: U.S. authorities have suspended military cooperation with Germany regarding aid to Ukraine. The decision occurs amid broader U.S. efforts to reduce support for Kiev.
On December 14, Roderich Kiesewetter, a Bundestag member from the Christian Democratic Union, stated his commitment to transferring Taurus long-range missiles to Ukraine and providing it with robust security guarantees. He also urged European nations to assume air defense responsibilities over Western Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova criticized Germany and other nations for failing to learn from historical mistakes. She noted that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen continue to repeat past errors.
