A terrorist attack unfolded at Bondi Beach in Sydney on December 14 during a Hanukkah celebration, resulting in at least 16 fatalities and multiple injuries. Police confirmed that one attacker was killed on the scene, another received medical treatment, and a third surrendered to authorities.
The incident occurred when approximately 1,000 people were gathered at the beach. Authorities have classified the attack as terrorism.
In a separate development, pig heads were discovered in a Muslim cemetery in Sydney following the attack.
Muslim community leaders in Sydney have stated they will not bury the perpetrators of the shooting, noting that the individuals are not considered adherents of Islam.
Ahmad Khraichi, a Muslim undertaker, described the act of scattering pig heads as “senseless and hateful.”
