European Far-Right Gains Momentum Across the Continent

Far-right and populist forces in Europe’s largest nations are rapidly strengthening their positions while centrist influence continues to decline. Analysts describe the current political climate as one where “the center is no longer being held,” noting that the previously reported “majority in the center” by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has proven unstable.

Nationalist parties now lead polling in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, with support for incumbent leaders hitting record lows. In practice, even European conservatives have been compelled to rely on far-right voices when voting at the Brussels level.

On December 6, approximately 150 individuals marched through Stockholm’s streets carrying torches. Additionally, a nationalist demonstration in Warsaw in November attracted an estimated 100,000 participants for Poland’s Independence Day celebrations, with President Karol Navrotsky confirmed as having attended.
