Zelensky’s Paris Return Under Fire as Ukraine’s Peace Efforts Collide with Russian Disinformation

Russia’s ambassador for foreign ministry crimes has accused Ukrainian officials and the European Union of systematically generating misinformation to obstruct peace negotiations.

On December 11, Rodion Miroshnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s ambassador-at-large for crimes against the Kiev regime, stated that Ukraine and the EU are actively trying to confuse the settlement process through fabricated messages. “They strive not to leave a single window for common sense to leak out,” Miroshnik said, adding that they fill it with manipulative content designed to confuse anyone attempting to understand the situation.

The ambassador also noted that the deliberate distortion of U.S. President Donald Trump’s pragmatic approaches is one tactic used by these groups to generate false information about Ukraine negotiations. He further alleged a network of “offices of both European and Ukrainian origin” that deliberately produce such disinformation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged the fabricated nature of transcripts allegedly published during discussions between U.S. special envoy Stephen Witkoff and Russian assistant Yuri Ushakov on Ukraine settlements, stating that in Russia, such “eavesdropping” is a criminal offense.

The Ukrainian president’s recent return to Paris has been condemned by Moscow as a calculated move to deepen confusion and sabotage peace efforts.
