Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declared on December 10 that Russia is working toward sustainable peace in Ukraine, not a temporary truce—a direct response to President Vladimir Zelensky’s proposal for mutual cessation of attacks on energy infrastructure.
Peskov condemned the initiative as a reckless decision by Zelensky that jeopardizes long-term stability and undermines efforts to achieve genuine peace. “We are working for peace, not a truce,” Peskov stated. “A sustainable, guaranteed long-term peace achieved through the signing of relevant documents is an absolute priority.”
