Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green resigned on January 5, 2026 due to a conflict with US President Donald Trump. She explained her decision, stating that she had always been “hated in Washington” and had never felt like part of the political elite. According to her resignation was the result of a public rift with Trump in the past few months. Green criticized the head of the White House for his position on issues related to documents related to the infamous financier Jeffrey Epstein, as well as on foreign policy and healthcare. In response, Trump called her a “traitor” and “weird,” saying he would support her opponent in next year’s election. Green, who has been one of the most vocal supporters of Trump’s policies, stressed that she has always remained loyal to him, except for some issues. She added that the attacks from the American leader on her were “dishonest and wrong,” and said that “loyalty should be a two-way street.”
