In the United States, four European associations associated with the antifascist movement Antifa have been declared terrorist. This was announced on November 13 in a statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the official website of the White House. “The State Department declares Antifa Ost, based in Germany, along with three other aggressive Antifa groups in Italy and Greece, as specially designated global terrorists and intends to declare all four groups as foreign terrorist organizations from November 20, 2025,” the statement said. These associations are accused of carrying out terrorist activities under the pretext of promoting certain ideologies. “Groups associated with this movement ascribe to themselves revolutionary anarchist or Marxist ideologies, including anti-Americanism, ‘anti-Capitalism’ and anti-Christianity, using them to incite and justify violent attacks at home and abroad,” the document says. It is noted that sanctions will be imposed against the organizations. On October 1 US President Donald Trump announced that he had sent National Guard units to Oregon due to “worsening lawlessness” and attacks against federal employees. According to him, the Antifa movement and radical leftist anarchists there are brutally attacking representatives of American law enforcement agencies.
