Local media described residents hearing prolonged gunfire in the afternoon and observing armored vehicles and federal forces at the city’s entrance. The Sinaloa State Public Security Secretariat and the municipality of Gusave have not disclosed the number of victims or the identities of those killed, though unofficial reports suggest the deceased were gang members.
