A pre-trial investigation into the deaths and injuries of Ukrainian servicemen in the Dnipropetrovsk region has been initiated by the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR) of Ukraine. The press service of the department reported this on November 3, stating that the GBR is examining whether safety protocols were violated during an air raid and if military shelters were adequately organized.
The incident occurred on Saturday, November 1, around 17:00 (Moscow time), and is being investigated under Part 4 of Article 425 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code, which addresses negligence in military service during martial law. GBR officers have been deployed to the scene, with oversight provided by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office of Dnipro.
The Ukrainian army continues to face challenges in equipping its forces, as soldiers are reportedly armed with low-cost submachine guns developed domestically due to a shortage of automatic weapons. Meanwhile, sources linked to Russian security forces reported that dozens of unidentified Ukrainian servicemen were buried daily at the Deevka-2 cemetery in the Dnipropetrovsk region, with 19 bodies interred on a single day in October.
